BedUp

BedUp is a good, practical way to free some space in your home. When you need the bed – just lower it from the ceiling and when you don’t you can return it to the ceiling. BadUp is easy to use, I mean getting it up and down, there’s only one button. You can stop the bed at any level. There are also lamps in the bottom of the bed so when you are not using it it becomes a ceiling with lamps. BedUp costs from $4,300 not the cheapest bed in the word but definitely the most practical.

  1. omg i want one.
sex in mid air… might be interesting.

  2. thats really cool!

  3. I really could use this to free up some space in my tiny
    apartment.

  4. What happens if it malfunctions and you get squashed against the ceiling?

  5. I like the idea… but what about safety issues?

  6. What if it falls down unexpectedly?

  7. Looks a bit odd on the ceiling, but it seems like a pretty good idea…

  8. I’m afraid that it could rush down and kill me. Does this ever happen?

  9. Interesting idea…but I’d be afraid of hitting the button in my sleep, or someone else hitting the button on accident and getting crushed against the ceiling.

  10. I love the idea but I agree with Ben that it looks somehow more obtrusive than I might have imagined. I am not sure I would prefer it to a bed which folds up into the wall … which does not take away the height of the space. But anything which makes better use of that precious space has to be a good thing.

  11. I love the idea. We will probably see it in Ikea soon.

  12. AWESOME. AS. HELL.

  13. OMFG that bed is the shit I totally want that bed it would save so much room in my dorm room

  14. So, yeah, weight issues? idk if anyone else is from America- but that’s always a concern. And yeah, what if you’re like, having a massive orgy, how much weight and stress can this thing hold? And it looks like you need to prop it up with legs every night- that would take some work…

  15. I believe this is a very good idea. it may just be the vodka tonics and the 2am speaking, but when i come stumbling into the house, i dont want to be running into the frame of the bed…if anything i’d rather fall onto the sofa…then, when i come to, push the button and fall into bed after it appears as if by magic in front of me…not only that, but a bed on a ceiling? it’d be an awesome place to hide your lover when your husband comes home…except, if you forgot about him, and Voila! an extra man in the house……now…how did he get there….lol.

    i like the idea…
    Thanks!

  16. aweome. wish i had one cuz my bed takes up my whole tiny room. i wish i could afford it :(

  17. excellent idea but I would always feel nervous lol

  18. Great and usefull blog, but the background is a shame.

  19. um i think ive seen something like this before…pretty sure it was a bunk bed….sometimes without the bottom bunk

  20. pretty sweet…although i’m not sure i would trust that it would never fall on me or someone else during the day.

  21. this is a great idea i like the design, but how much stress can the supports hold, what about movement on the bed.. sex in the air would be great but can it handle the movements?? for 4300 i hope it can// has anyone ever fallen out when the bed is at a higher level? i want one

  22. These comments are better than the bed!

  23. The problem with this for me would be seeing blankets hanging over the side once I moved it up. I can just imagine not paying attention and then all of a sudden looking up and seeing a sheet hanging down from the ceiling.

  24. OMG!2 cool wish i had money=,^ (

  25. I agree with SarahJean

  26. It’s bad if you’re drunk

  27. where can i get one???

  28. I think it’s a freaking great idea.. Buuuut.. if you live in such a small apartment, what makes the creators and retailers think you can afford a $4,300 bed. I guess Americans are accustomed to living beyond their means.. But, I would hate to disassemble, and reassemble every time I moved.. Perhaps if you own a sweet loft in NYC, and plan to stay for a while.. Then it would be a pretty awesome investment :)

  29. If one could afford to spend $4,300+ on a floating bed, why wouldn’t one just spring for a slightly larger apartment? I admit it is an interesting idea, though.
