he uses Adobe Illustrator to create the vector art by tracing the photos and using gradient meshes to achieve a realistic blending of the colors, shadows, and texture. there is no program that does this automatically for you, you have to have a real skill and a skill to see the smallest detail and an ability to use the program and all it’s tools to achieve such work as this.. this guy has a real talent.
