Things are not the way they look. Part II
January 15th, 2007 FunForever
We have again made a compilation of realistic looking ads. These advertisments may not be just off-the-peg, but these genius works are timeless.
Agency: Saatchi&Saatchi, NY
Ad: This absolutely genius advertisment of Folgers is a photo of coffee, printed on vinyl and then placed on top of steaming manhole covers around New York. It looks, as if a large cup of coffee was placed on the ground!

Agency: Zapping, Madrid
Ad: The advertisment show faces of three children - Asian, Black and Indian. By inserting a coin to take the cart, you as if “feed the child”. Under the image, it says “You can feed a child for two days with what you spend renting this cart. Help”.

Agency: Downtown Partners
Ad: Such advertisment was placed in Toronto for World First Aid Day, depicting a woman lying on the floor, as if unconscious and very realistic!

Agency: Jung von Matt, Berlin
Ad: This bag promotes anti nail biting product “Stop`n`Grow” and looks hilarious.

Agency: BBDO, Italy.
Ad: A real size Mini car was attached to a ramp, so that the car would move up and down, creating a Yo-Yo effect.

Agency: Jung von Matt, Hamburg
Ad: This advertisment is for Dental implant insurance and shows bowling pins as teeth.

Very creative and interesting. Why can’t all ads be like this? Then people wouldn’t ignore them.

Instead of a quarter, I’d rather give those kids a condom. If you keep feeding them but refuse to teach them proper birth control as the missionaries are currently doing, then the only result is that more will starve.
Donating money to starving children is one of those knee-jerk feel good ideas that only works on paper. Reality is something else.
