Starry eyed surprise

July 31st, 2006 FunForever

PatternHypnotic circles, drawn by a recent graduate of the Royal College of Art Richard Sarson, do make an impression: they hypnotise and mesmerize one’s eye. *

This strange combination of 1000 circles emerged from random doodles with a compass, tracing the same circle over and over again until a pattern was created. As Richard Sarson claims himself, his drawings are the result of an obsession with pattern and symmetry along with the desire to create complex images using simple thingsĀ.

* The Circle Project is strongly advised to be checked out by pattern lovers.
