Chernobyl- 20 years later
April 13th, 2006 FunForever

This graffiti was made in Pripyat town, which was the first town to be affected with radiation when Chernobyl accident happened.
A group of artists from Moscow, Minsk, Berlin went down there 20 years later to make a tribute to all those people who passed away and who are still suffering from the causes of this catastrophe.
People have different opinion on these artworks, should they be there or not. This ghost-town is like a huge graveyard, no sound but the wind comes from there. www.26-04-1986.com

I was pregnant at the time and that was the expressin I had on my face after knowing about the Chernobyl explosion.
During these 20 years I have always prayed The Lord for the people that died and the ones having had serious consequenses from this disaster.I still pray for my son that has just turned 20. My fear will last forever…..
God Bless the ones that fight to create a new country remembering the lost ones.
The photos are the deepest inner expression of a person that touched tragedy.

these photo’s had me in tears. Chernobyl affected so many people, all over the world. the fallout rain fell as far away as Wales, falling on my friend as a young woman, she finally succumbed to extremely aggressive cancer 20 years on,aged 41, a fact she and her family attribute to the chernobyl disaster. even now, plants and animals in that area are still affected by the fallout.
my thoughts are with those that are still experiencing life in the vicinity of the disaster, and those that couldnt get away.
