Ever wanted to build your own robot? Here is a very simple robot you can build using a toothbrush, a pager motor and a battery. Instructions and a video are below.
Steampunk Webcam
A webcam is always useful to have around you can take photos make videos and webcalls. What I find great about this webcam is the amazing design and that is also a lamp and you can adjust the light brightness. It can take 1.3 mega pixel photos and shoot 640×480 videos at 30 fps. Another great thing about it is that it’s driverless, all you have to do is plug it in and it only costs $12. Looks like streampunk is catching on becoming more available.
USB heating gloves
I’m sure many people have been in a situation when an office co-worked forgot to close the window for the night and when you get to the office the next day it’s freezing cold. Here’s a gadget to help you freely use a mouse or type and defrost your hands at the same time – USB heating gloves. You can heat them till 53 °C, they work under any USB device. Pretty neat, considering winter is here, and it’s getting cold outside.

The Plumen Project
There are not many designs for light bulbs and that’s what Hulger decided to change. Here are the designs they came up with. Personally I never pay attention to the light bulb’s design. As long as it’s working I’m fine with it. Moreover, you can’t really see the design of a light bulb when it’s on. Nevertheless it’s good that people make new designs for it, they have really good ideas.
Piano-Computer
Who would have known that someone will come up with the idea of merging a computer with a piano. Well, not only someone came up with the idea, but he also made it and put his creation on eBay. It has a 26 inch Philips LCD HDTV monitor 6,8 GGH processor with OS Windows XP Media Center Edition, 1 GB RAM 500 GB hard drive. The “hull” of the computer is a 1904 Chickering Grand Piano. This computer/piano is one-of-a-kind and would make a great gift.
Steampunk Watches
With steampunk growing more and more popular, people invent new ideas how to make more cool steampunk gadgets. Here’s a big collection of steampunk watches. Wouldn’t mind getting myself one of these.
IT- The Beginning
Do you remember how the early computers looked like and how they operated? Here they are! Interesting though, we used these computers to make first flights into space and they all seemed very modern and hi-tech. Now a mobile phone can process data much faster than these computers.

Interactive Media Wall
The Interactive Media Wall by Perceptive Pixel is a 8 x 3 feet multi-touch screen. This media wall allows you to list through photographs, zoom in and out, scroll documents and much, much more. This is a very futuristic and fun piece of technology. There’s no point saying what it can do, it’s much more interesting to watch the video. The Interactive Media Wall can be bought for $100,000.00 I wouldn’t mind getting myself one of these, the feeling of manipulating and navigating through all kinds of information by touch must be great.
Creative and Useful Inventions
Everyday people come up with different ideas and inventions to make our everyday life a little better. Many of such inventions remain in the shadows, unknown to the general public. Here is a collection of some useful stuff and creative stuff. I find the stairs-cupboard most useful.
