Grassy Phone

In today’s rapid consumerist society, consumption comes into question. How durable do we want our devices to be when they become near obsolete in 5 years? The source materials that make up their build often take hundreds of years to break down. An alternative ideology are disposable products made from natural sources. The Natural Year Phone is made of hay, sans screen and soft keys. The hard components get recycled while the hay is um. . . well I wouldn’t smoke it.

Time Cube

It always puts a smile on my face when I see such clocks. I enjoy the different and sometimes bizarre designs but when it comes to telling time that’s where the problems start. We are accustomed to round clocks with 3 (sometimes 2) hands.
So this is a time cube but instead of hands it has triangles. The large one is the hour hand the middle one - minutes and the smallest one is for minutes. I think and this is only a guess, that you can tell time by looking at the numbers near the black line. What I like about this clock is that it transform into different shapes for 12 hours.

Scotsman’s Trufill

This is a very important invention that will make everybody happier. The Scotsman’s Trufill can fill you glass with cold beer in seconds so you won’t miss any moments from the football match you’re watching. It doesn’t matter whether Trufill uses magic or a valve at the bottom of the glass to fill it up, the important thing is you’ll save time on beer refills.

100% LED Watch

100%, a design studio has shown off its cool, new LED watch at Tokyo Design Week 2008. The watch looks like a bracelet with numbers shining through it. I really like the design and the good news is that this watch just might go into production.

Snowball Launcher

Just came across this kid’s toy that shoots snowballs. It seems like most of the work that needed to be done to actually throw a snowball is done for you. Back in the days when you only had gloves you had to pick up some snow, form a ball and the throw it. Those who wanted more accuracy(me included) took their gloves off so the hands would melt the snow a little and the snowball would become more dense thus better accurate and throwing distance. But enough about history this gun fires softball sized snowballs up to 50 feet. Just put the snow in the gun’s forming chamber close the lid and you’ve got yourself 3 snowballs. Then place the snowball in the muzzle and shoot. The blaster is powered by elastomers so it lasts as long as you do. Here’s the link to the Shop

Intelligent Cutlery - IC3

This is a concept I’d absolutely love to see on sale. The concept, designed by Alex Schulz, is a computerized shaft with 3 interchangeable eating apparatuses: fork, spoon and knife. The fork analyzes composition such as fat, protein, sugars, the spoon measures the weight and the knife measures the temperature. The IC3 can be very helpful for people who have diabetes, allergies or are simply on a diet. There is of course a minor hassle of changing the tips when you’re using the IC3. The concept is currently on display at the Designparcours Munich 2008 exhibition.

SteelSeries World of Warcraft Mouse

WOW! SteelSeries and Blizzard have unveiled a mouse made especially for World of Warcraft. First thing first, It looks amazing, if aliens used mice with their computers I’m sure this is how we would picture them. Now comes the function part. The mouse has 15 programmable buttons. 15! That’s more then I used for the whole game including moving around but I understand that for PvP you need to have lots of buttons you can quickly push and not take your eyes off the screen. Also, you can choose what color the mouse will glow. You can chose from 16 million colors. A bit overkill but may keep the player busy while he’s in queue for the next battleground. One last thing, the mouse will be on sale on November 13, the same date when the Wrath of the Lich King comes out and will cost $90

Steampunk Phone

This phone was designed by Londoner Arthur Schmitt and it’s just awesome. The phone is so inefficient, so bulky, such a pain to handle and all these things make the phone even better. Among all the inefficiencies, which makes this phone so cool, one stands out the most - you need to use punch cards and binary phone numbers to control your phone’s features and make calls. Isn’t it just the coolest gadget ever?

Microsoft’s new Blue Track mouse

Microsoft has unveiled its new mouse that uses brand new technology - Blue Track. This technology allows the mouse to work on almost any surface giving it the advantage over laser and optical mice. This technology is good news for people who use mice with laptops. For desktops it doesn’t matter which mouse to use, all work great on tables and pads.
