Mike Stimpson’s LEGO

As Mike Stimpson write in his profile he like to take many pictures of LEGO. Here we have some old famous photos and some LEGO recreations. I think this is a fantastic idea with a great number of possible arrangements. The best part is you can use any toys not just LEGO.

Ice Rain in China

This is what happened after a rain in southern China. The water froze on the grass, leaves and flowers encasing them in beautiful, transparent ice. I like the way the Olympics sign of flowers froze. I’m sure some artist to pick up the theme and make his own frozen flowers, leaves. It’s just a matter of time.

Breaking Statues

Photos showing the last moments of a statue’s life, before it splits into millions of tiny pieces. The last photo with a bird statue is the best. It doesn’t look like it’s breaking, instead you just see birds flying over flowers.

Rice Field Art

Rice field art in the country of the rising sun. Each year these guys make new images on their field by planting rice in different patterns making various images. They use different sorts of rice for color. The result is amazing as you can see. It’s a pity they only last as long as it’s time to harvest the rice.

X-Ray Art

X-Ray art is not something new, in fact it has a rich history. Photography, is basically the act of drawing with photons. The idea was for two-dimensional artists make images by directly imprinting images with exposure to light. In 1895 Wilhelm Konrad Roentgen discovered how to use x-ray to see through solid objects. Scientists who had access to X-ray mashines made X-ray images for artistic purposes and occasionally sold them as “office art”. This is a collection of photographs done by a dutch artist Albert Koetsier.

High Speed Photography

Photos of bullets hitting different objects taken by a high speed camera. High speed photography is a good way to study the behaviour of object when struck by bullets or other fast moving objects.
