Graffiti Covered Building in New York

This graffiti covered building is located in New York along the route of train 7 which goes from Flushing to Times Square. The artists did a great job on this building, it looks amazing. The sign on the door says you can only paint on this building if you get a permit so I’m guessing this was a project by graffiti artist to paint the whole building or something like that.

Sewer Opening Art

The streets in Sao Paulo would still be blank if it weren’t for a few enterprising young artists. The group was busy painting the sewer openings of Sao Paulo for at least a year. The group did an amazing job, no doubt the city looks much better.

Light Graffiti

A new trend in graffiti art - light graffiti. Typical graffiti is made by using spray paint, however to make light graffiti all you need is a light source - flashlight, glowstick, fireworks, or maybe a cell phone and a camera. The results are amazing.

Graffiti

Graffiti is the name for images or lettering scratched, scrawled, or more usually spray-painted on objects, walls or buildings which is often regarded as unsightly damage or unwanted vandalism. Personally i find good graffiti art to be enjoyable. By good I mean murals. But then you have a big wall and there is a small signatures usually made by black spay paint, that is vandalism.

Thursday’s peculiar art

David Ellis lives and works in Brooklyn. The artist calls his works ‘motion paintings’ and so they are - vivid and unusual!

Donna Eaves photos seem to carry crazy bathroom ideas - probably the abstracting after the dreams or before them.

Absolutely cute blog Le blog de nesk (in French) brought us these pictures:

Mazakii is an illustrator, designer and dressmaker, based in Guangzhou China, with her outrageous ambition to be the chief designer of Coco Chanel, replacing Karl Lagerfeld.

Antony Micellef is a provocative graffiti artist. His art is war, fashion, sex and feminism - at least that’s what we, peculiar people, see there.

ANTicipation

“Seen from distance the wallpaper seems simply an antique baroque motive, but coming closer you will discover that thousands of ants are crawling on the walls creating this baroque wallpaper…”
This ANT’IQUE wallpaper is a winner project of “New Walls, Please!” 2007. ANT’IQUE wallpaper has been created by young and talented team GAMplusFRATESI.

GAMplusFRATESI is a designer union, including Stine Gam from Denmark and Enrico Fratesi from Italy. The artists claim that this union of two countries helps them find their project ideas. With their design they wish to tell a story that finds inspiration from the simple everyday gestures to the deeper parts of our cultures in a fusion of technology, poetry and tradition. GAMplusFRATESI have a great success all over the world, they participate in numerous exhibitions all over the world: NewYork, Las Vegas, Berlin ,London, Milano, Copenhagen.

Another artist so famous with his ants motives is Peter Kogler. Ants seem to really fascinate him: ant walls, ant floors, ant pictures, ant wallpapers - ants all around you!

ant design

Peter Kogler is among the internationally most successful Austrian artists of his generation. Despite invitations to participate in numerous prestigious exhibitions of the last decade - the Venice Biennale (1995) or the documenta in Kassel (1992 and 1997), for example - there has been no comprehensive presentation of his work until now.

Making the streets better

Wandering around a city, you don’t always notice the alternative art - different flash mobs and modern expressionism. Get the insight of what’s going on around you.

Knitta is a community of knitters, they first started, when these ladies realized that they have lots of unfinished sweaters and scarves. They started wrapping objects on the streets and making New York look prettier.

Little people, so popular around the web and so unnoticed on the streets. A guy from London makes us realize, how sweet life can be, by placing little figures on the streets.

Art on cars surely makes the city nicer. When a car owner is too lazy to get his vehicle washed, images drawn in the dust save the day. Too bad, such art is short-term.

Finally, most noticed street art is writings on the wall, they are so many and so versatile and different, giving the opportunity to send a message to the world.

SmART review

If you have been missing a pencil, it means that Jennifer Maestre might have stolen it to create one of her outstanding pencil sculptures.
These sculputures look amazing - unusual twists, forms, shapes - all made of hundreds of different pencils.

If you have been missing a pencil - don’t miss it - go and get it from Pete Goldlust. This artist creates most unusual crayons in the world - odd and funny multicolor crayons to paint fun with!

And last but not the least comes Tali Dalton - he expresses his thoughts in glass. These sculptures mean artist’s emotions and how he sees them. Looks amazing.

Another Israel graffiti artist Rami Meiri, we are glad to present his works here. What he has or, more correct to say, his works - they make people turn their heads and look at them. Quite sweet!
