Some restaurants change their cutlery as often as every 9 months. So, that can creative people do with all that unwanted cutlery? Make furniture of course. This chair doesn’t look very comfortable though and if you ever find yourself sitting in one don’t move around too much if you want to keep all of your “seat”. 
Of course, I understand that there aren’t so many radiator designs but making one from a washing machine hose is not the answer. First, the inner layer of the hose is plastic or rubber so it makes a terrible radiator. Second, such hoses are not as durable as a regular radiator. From personal experience: some years ago I used such a hose as a temp for a metal pipe. It was holding at first but soon burst. Third, you can trip over it so it’s a fail in terms of safety. I do however like the concept of the hose radiator I’m just not ready to sacrifice heating for a new design.
It’s effective, it’s merciless and now it’s slim. Designed by Pepe Garcia and Martin Žampach this electronic bug zapper goes well with almost any environment. Plus, it’s easy to use, simply install it somewhere in the room and change the fly paper from time to time however if yo can’t take the sight on hundreds of dead creepy-crawlies then let some else do it.
It took days of works and lots of cassette tapes but in the end the Dutch designer Patrick Schuur made himself a great closet. Each of the 918 cassettes were individually screwed to the wooden frame. Three doors provide access to the huge storage space inside. Now the cassette closet is being auctioned and the current bid is 499.00 Euro or $625. The link to the auction page is after the jump.
This is a concept I’d absolutely love to see on sale. The concept, designed by Alex Schulz, is a computerized shaft with 3 interchangeable eating apparatuses: fork, spoon and knife. The fork analyzes composition such as fat, protein, sugars, the spoon measures the weight and the knife measures the temperature. The IC3 can be very helpful for people who have diabetes, allergies or are simply on a diet. There is of course a minor hassle of changing the tips when you’re using the IC3. The concept is currently on display at the Designparcours Munich 2008 exhibition.
Titanium goggles or the Titanium and Brass Photochromatic, Variable-Aperture Goggles which I think is a cool name for such amazing goggles. It took the creator 1 year to make them. The coolest feature of these goggles is the iris. Not only do they make the goggles look cool they also improve the sharpness of vision at long distances at their smallest aperture. They do this by increasing the depth of field by limiting the aperture similar to a camera lens.
If you work hard dreams come true. As you’ve guessed from the title Ken made this lambo countach. It took him 10 years but the result is amazing. Ken is an aluminum worker and TIG welder and his car is 100% hand made. The car has all aluminum interior with leather dash, Momo seats and 5 point harness, on board halon fire bottle and a quick release steering wheel. Low to the ground at 2700 lbs. The last obstacle in making this great car was getting it out of the garage
The purpose for such a fork is simple – make is easier to twirl spaghetti. However, I get the feeling while they were optimizing the fort for spaghetti twirling they forgot about safety. I mean, this fork looks like a torture device and after using it you might end up with a few more piercing holes in your lip.
Icelandic artist and designer Katrin Olina launched 2 amazing installations. One multimedia installation, the Crystal Ball is in Hong Kong the other is half the world away in the Reykjavik Art Museum. Both installation are full of color, strange forms and characters. Seeing Olina’s works is like taking some LSD but in a good way (if that even makes any sense). Anyway, I simply adore the colors of the installations.
Car fans are going to love these. Computer mice that look like cars. The scroll wheel is in the hood and the hood itself is the buttons. The mice come is different brands Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang, Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Corvette and there are lots of colors to choose from. The price of one roadmouse is $40
