Cyber Clean

I know it’s not something new but when I saw the video of Cyber Clean I was surprised that there is such a thing which makes cleaning stuff so easy. I have a keyboard that had not been cleaned for 13 years. I bought it in 1995 and I’m still using it (I like the layout of the keys) . About a month ago i decided to clean it. I took it apart, got all the dirt out, cleaned every key individually and now it looks brand new, except for some missing letter on some keys. I wonder if Cyber Clean could have cleaned out my keyboard. Well, I’ll be sure to check it out in 13 years.

Virus in Orbit (again)

2 laptops on the ISS has been infected by the W32.Gammima.AG. This virus is made to steal logins and password from online gamers. The virus receive the login and password and then sends them to a remote server. The central operations have not been infected and the worm is described as a “nuisance”. This is not the first time a computer virus made its way to the ISS. Even astronauts should be careful playing WoW.

We had space tourists on ISS, now we also have space viruses.

Batmobile from the first Batman movie sold on Ebay

Surely there are people in your neighborhood who own expensive cars but I’m sure no one has a batmobile. I’m sure because there were only 5 of these made for the first batman movie staring Micheal Keaton and Jack Nicholson.

The custom built batmobile is 20 feet long and 8 feet wide with a Chevrolet 350 engine. There are no doors so the owner will have to jump in through the top like batman did. This batmobile #5 has been parked int he Batcave for 5 years and the time has come to share it with the rest of the batenthusiasts… for $110,000.00

Race Across Azeroth

If you’re a World of Warcraft fan you’re going to love this. So Aaron and Eli decided to have a race from Shadowglen to Darnassus but the race involved actually running not sitting and pressing “W”. So they got a treadmill from amazon, calculated the maximum speed a mouse could track and hooked them up to WoW. The character Running speed was already measured by Tusky. The race lasted 4:50 minutes and the guys had to run 6 mph. I think most of the guys who play WoW would not make it to Dolanaar.

SoulArc

Now, thanks to Mitch Mulder and Salvaore Vilardi it’s possible to go surfing on roads. The new Skateboard, called the SoulArc is pretty combines two activities- skateboarding and surfing. An online store is currently being built, it will be able to take orders in mid September. For now you can e-mail Salvaore Vilardi and get on the waiting list(the address is here). The board will cost $260.

World’s Smallest Art

How small is the world’s smallest art you ask? It’s so small that entire sculptures can fit on a pinhead. The collection was bought from Willard Wigan for £11.2 million (roughly $22,4 million) by former England Davis Cup captain David Lloyd. Willard’s art is considered the “eighth wonder of the world” and he has received his MBE for services to art from HRH the Prince of Wales in July 2007.

And here are some photos of the tiny masterpieces.

Virtual Wall Traffic Light

I remember seeing something very close to this is a movie, don’t remember which one though. Anyway, I strongly believe that such traffic light, designed by Hanyoung Lee would greatly improve safety on the roads. Sometimes due to weather conditions the traffic signal could be unnoticed I’d like to see a driver who would say “I didn’t see a 20 foot red wall in front of me.”

Too bad this is only a concept and there are no plans on installing these babies in cities.

Deus Ex Machina

Deus Ex Machina designed by Jake Loniak is a cool, futuristic bike concept. It looks like a tripod on wheels with a man in the middle. The concept has seven artificial vertebrae, thirty-six pneumatic muscles and a head of its own to keep the driver/pilot in place and in one piece.

The bike is powered by hybrid power pack made from Doped NanoPhosphate batteries and ultracapacitors and it’s believed that it can go from zero to 60 in 3 seconds. As the speed increases the 2 forward wheels move forward making the drive/pilot lean forward.

Regarding safety I don’t think it’s any more dangerous than a regular bike.

Touch Sight

Touch Sight is a revolutionary digital camera that was designed Chueh Lee, Liqing Zou, Ning Xu, Saiyou Ma, Dan Hu, Fengshun Jiang and Zhenhui Sun for blind people to take photos. Yes, I know how it sounds but the idea is very interesting. The camera records 3 seconds of sound before the picture was taken and displays it on a lightweight, flexible braille. The image is embossed on the surface of the braille so the user can touch it. The sound is can be used as reference when viewing or reviewing the photo.

During the research it was discovered that the best place for a blind person to stabilize the camera is the forehead.

This is a brilliant concept I just hope it goes into production and it won’t be very expensive.

Silence

We’ve all seen the new (not anymore) type of alarm clocks which you have to chase or put together a puzzle to turn it off. This, however, is a different type of alarm clock. The Silence alarm clock, designed by Johan Brengesjo, does not make any noise to wake you, instead you put on a rubber band when you go to sleep and it starts to vibrate at the set time. To snooze the band you’ll need to shake your hand. But the band will begin vibrating again and you’ll have to shake your hand harder this time to snooze it. This will wake you up more effectively than an ordinary and sometimes very annoying alarm.
