This collection or tableware designed by Kathryn Hinton was presented at the Royal College or Art this months. The letters on the prongs of forks correspond with the writing on the bowls or the tableware mimics the surface of the table making it seem they were liquid.

Red Bull Art of Can Exhibition

An exhibition of fan-made sculptures made from empty red bull cans in London. People of all ages made their masterpieces with the aluminum remainders. Here we have planes, animals, bugs, toasters and even shoes. It’s amazing what people can do with something as simple as an aluminum can.

The Birds, Bats and Bees

20 international designers and artists have created a habitats for British endangered species using recycled materials for a charity auction in London on 27 June. The designers were asked to use old auction catalogues and packing materials to create the habitats and shelters for animals. Here are some examples of their works.

Sleek Racing Bike Concept

Daniel Bailey is the designer of this sleek looking race bike. It was inspired by the Alien character from “Alien”. It’s suppose to be as aerodynamic as possible and the stats(height, wheel base etc) are based on the Kawasaki Ninja. It’s designed to be a racing bike in the near future.

Blue Flash

John Ivers was tired of waiting in lines for hours to ride the roller coaster so he built his own coaster in his backyard. He even installed a 360 loop oh his selfmade coaster. It took his 1.5 years to build but the result is fun and most importantly without lines. Video after the jump.

Solar Harvesting Curtains

Sheila Kennedy is an expert in solar cell technology in architecture. She has designed a Soft house with solar harvesting curtains which can create close to 16,000 watt-hours of electricity. The curtains are semi-transparent so it’s not the same thing as having solar panels for windows. The flaw of the project is the cost which makes it rather expensive and not likely to be mass produced.

Arcattack are the creators of the Singing Tesla Coils. They use a unique DJ set up to generate amazing audio visual performances. The Tesla coils act like instruments.

Joe DiPrima and Oliver Greaves designed and constructed these Tesla Coils while the music is developed by John DiPrima and Tony Smith.
