The Art of the Brick

Different artists use different use different method to express themselves, some use paint others use clay or metal but Nathan Sawaya chose Lego bricks. There’s literally no limits to what he can create out of Lego from the statue of liberty to huge pencils and animals. There much more neat stuff on his website the link, as usual is below the photos.

Otto the Greek Ear

Every object, every surface has a sound, a whisper that is not detectable by the human ear. Otto (greek for ear) makes these hidden sounds audible. You can position otto to almost any surface you want. I personally haven’t a clue how a glass window or a table sounds but it would be cool to find out. Or maybe it can be used to listen through walls, you know like putting a plastic cup to you hear, that would be fun.

Lladró Figurines

London designers Committee have released their figurine series for Spanish porcelain brand Lladró called Evolution of Love. The series feature three figurines of lovers that are partially covered by porcelain flowers. These three couple represent three phases of love where the flowers symbolize the evolution of feelings. First the couple is covered by just a few flowers but as they get closer to each other the number of flowers grows. I really like the idea and I feel it can be further expanded using color, not only flowers.

Fred & Friends Designs

Here we have very creative designs from Fred & Friends. Some are pure genius, like the ring-cup. The cup itself is very nice but the box it come with is even better. I already had thought of fooling some of my friends (girl friends in case you are wondering) You know - get down on one knee stretch out my hands holding the opened box with the ring showing and ask the question… then observe the reaction. I would probably get punched in the face for this but I would be worth it! So anyway, enjoy the design guys and if you want to see more the link as always is at the bottom of the post - enjoy.

Medusa Hat and Goggles

Medusa is a creature from Greek mythology which looks like a woman with snakes for hair and if anyone looks in her eyes they turn to stone. Well taking your eyes of the this cool medusa hat is not going to be easy. The leather skullcap with the dreadlocks comes with the special goggles which are not just cool looking but also provide 100% UV light filtering and impact protection.
It’s not something you would wear of a hot, sunny day and it definitely won’t turn anyone into stone, but you just can’t beat its looks.
It is for sale if you are interested, just follow the link below.

Bronze Poly Chair

Max Lamb creator of many unique chair designs have made another one- the bronze poly chair. The chair is carved from a solid block of low density expanded polystyrene (98% air). Then “lost foam” process is used. The foam chair is buried into the sand then molten bronze is poured through the sprue into the sand, consuming the foam. After two hours you have solid bronze replica of the foam chair. Each chair is different because this process destroys the foam chair. There is however the issue of how comfortable you behind would feel when sitting on it, but I guess this is something people have to find out for themselves…

Chewing Gum Sculptures

Maurizio Savini, an Italian artist used a strange material for his creations - pink chewing gum or as it’s called in Italy “American gum”. The animal sculptures look very nice but the people are just outright scary. I’d put them in my top 10 scariest things list.

Electric Light Shoe

Designed for a Japanese footwear company Onitsuka Tiger by Freedom of Creation. The shoe is 3 feet long and contains a miniature city inside, the stripes resemble streets and highways and tall building point out from the shoe’s opening. The huge shoe is intended to communicate Onitsuka Tiger’s Japanese roots. I would love to see this thing, I mean it’s not everyday you can see a 3 foot illuminating shoe

Hip Office

Sitting in the office all day is very tiring and it also damages your health. Here’s a solution the Hip Office. It’s easy to put on, there’s no belts or anything like that. You can change the posture and continue using your computer. If you want to stand up and go for a walk to stretch your legs you can do so without interrupting the work process. The down side is you have to watch out for other people and object while walking with your eyes fixed on your computer screen.
